HI! I AM KARIN
I’m a hands-on coach with 15 years of experience, specializing in mobility, handstands, soft acrobatics, and locomotion.

I'm a practitioner at heart, fascinated by movement from a young age. I grew up as a swimmer and later immersed myself in capoeira, martial arts, calisthenics, and various forms of dance. I’ve spent years studying under world-class teachers, most prominently Ido Portal.

Today, I help both beginners and professional athletes expand their physical practice beyond traditional fitness methods.
My goal is to nurture movement literacy and build strong, capable bodies, with a focus on longevity and wellbeing.

I’ve guided thousands of people through my online programs, in-person workshops, and over a decade of running a movement gym.
The Origin of Motion Lab
After years of training, studying, traveling, and learning from teachers around the world through workshops and internships, I opened my gym in Haifa, Israel in 2016 - Motion.

My vision was to bring a different training approach to people from any background and any level of experience. I wanted to share my vision for movement without being limited by fitness trends or preconceived ideas of how adults “should” train.

And beyond my wildest dreams, Motion became exactly that - a true community and a space where former athletes practiced side by side with complete beginners, each learning something from the other.

Motion was never just a gym in the traditional sense. It was a space for adults to explore movement through a wider lens: strength, mobility, coordination, handstands, locomotion, floorwork, and soft acrobatics - all as part of one integrated practice.

During Covid, I started teaching online through The Motion School, mostly through subject-specific programs. These programs helped many people start practicing from home and truly changed people’s lives, but over time I realized that something important was missing.
Programs are valuable, but a real movement journey often needs more than a one-time course.
It needs consistency, guidance, feedback, connection, and a clear place to keep returning to.
That’s where Motion Lab was born.
Motion Lab is the online continuation of my physical school - a structured practice space where adults can build strength, mobility, coordination, and movement freedom in a sustainable way, from anywhere in the world.
